Long Day... Cold Day... Good Day...

I spent the day in DC with Ryan today... we checked out the newly-remodeled American History Museum (pretty cool); we ran into the Natural History Museum to quickly peruse a new ocean exhibit we've been waiting for; we watched the really balance-challenged skaters hobble their way around the fountain-cum-skating-rink in the Sculpture Garden; and we finished up at the National Christmas Tree, which was pretty. It was cold as crap, but a great day overall. Here are some photos... Loved this one of the Washington Monument. The light was great...
Oh Christmas Tree... My Christmas Elf...
Though you can't see it in this photo, if you zoom in close, there's a figure standing in the middle window, dressed in what looks like a maid's uniform. Ryan and I decided she's a ghost that haunts the White House. I hope she gives W nightmares.

I like your pictures. I love my goddaughter. I don't love that you went to DC again without me, but that's what I get for living so far away. I also don't love that W still lives in the White House, but we've got less than a month. I do love my bed and I'm going to go get in it as soon as I finish watching The Office Christmas Special which I'm sure to get all teary-eyed at again when Dawn goes back to the office and kisses Tim. Aw!

Merry Christmas, pal o' mine.

Diane, the pictures are amazing, love the first one because of the colour of the sky and the tree pictures came out incredibly well. They could be used in adds.;) Ryan is so very cute; glad you guys had fun!;))
Have a wonderful Christmas Eve Diane, I wish that with all my heart.;))

I'm on a dial-up. Do you know what that means?

It means I get the top picture first, very slowly, then the second and so on...

Halfway through the second one I'm thinking "Uh-oh, how many more phallic symbols to come?".

Then I realise you've corrupted me and I'm thinking gutter thoughts as well and that's just not me.

When the last couple of images loaded, I realised that you're just a wonderful mother after all and taking her kid on a sight-seeing trip! I really hope you had a great time!

I wish both you and Ryan a wonderful Christmas! Those sights look wonderful, I hope to visit Washington one day.

Beautiful pictures... but if I'm seeing correcting, that's one really tall maid. (I hope she scares the bejesus out of W, too.)

A very happy Christmas to you and Ryan... and thanks for your terrific blog and comments, too. It's been a grand year.

Great pictures! Send that maid over to my house after she's done there. That could save me some work.

Merry Christmas you two! Ryan looked like she really had fun. And what you said made me zoomed in on that maid..I wish she haunts too.

Nice photos- I really want to go to D.C. It's been too long. Like three administrations too long.

Merry Christmas, Diane (Donna?)!

Merry Christmas to you and your daughter. I haven't been to DC in many years and have been wanting to go back, especially to see the museums again. I lived there for a short time in the early 80s. Keep warm, though! Tell W goodbye for me :) Less than a month left to put up with him!
