Snow Day!

I know those of you who have been snowed under for a couple of months are going to be cursing me, but... WHOO HOO!! We finally got some snow! School was called off (naturally) and Ryan was ecstatic. A tad thrilled myself, I went back to bed for 2 hours and rose to find Herself tugging on snow pants and boots. Here are a couple of photos of Ryan, her friend Carli, and our Sundance. The snow hasn't quite covered all the grass yet, but it's still coming down, so there's hope...
Those are happy, snow day faces!

Yeah, she's my kid.

My Boy!
And now, it seems, it's recorder-practice time. I wonder if I ram fistfuls of snow in my ears, would that render me deaf from frozen eardrums?

Aww, almost enough to make me wish it snowed here in Savannah.

Almost.

Ho ironic; even you have snow, while we Scandinavians are without.;)
Although I do not mind - I hope it will stay this way until spring.;)
The pictures are lovely, very seasonal! Sundance is matching the surroundings perfectly.;)
Is there any story behind how he got his name?;)

Diane, Sundance in the snow looks like he's on the set of an epic movie!

As for Ryan and The Recorder, I learned violin when I was young, so even snow would not have muffled the screeching and the skrining! (I also played the recorder, it could be worse - Honestly!) Grizz plays the drums, loudly, all the time, our neighbours have ear-trumpets!

Glad the Book Club yesterday went swimmingly - Get them to read something more 'girly' next time - Push them out of their comfort zones! - Much love x

I'm so jealous!!! I wish I was there, playing in snow. I doubt we'll ever get any. :(

Looks like a great day to be outside. Did you try out the sled, too, Mom? (Or is that a boogie board?) Sundance is beautiful. He has real star potential. Maybe Ryan could teach him to play the recorder, or - better yet - sing along. Sound-canceling headphones is the answer, btw.

Well, since it's your first snow of the year, I'll let it slide. I've certainly had more than my share this winter, but this post takes me back to the days when I actually enjoyed it. Ah, the good ol' days...

Did you start your own ski slope? Is that why they have their credentials on their jacket? It's Mass-a-absolutely-nutten.

Everytime it snows here the kids get up and declare it is a snow day! But to their tiny broken hearts the schools have yet to close.

That looks like a lot more fun than what I got to do today, despite the awesome snow outside.... I just stared at it through my work window.

We have snow too! WooHOO! But lots of ice came with it :(
But I got off work early due to the icy conditions :)

Loved your "fistful of snow" packed in your ears comment. I am laughing as I type this--you SO say what I'm always thinking! You're making me a brave woman!

Enjoy the white stuff-- just wear the earmuffs inside the house while she's recorder-practicing. Maybe that will help.

I just wandered on over here from LMN. She said the nicest things about you and I thought that is worth checking out! :)
We got snow yet again here and I'm over it. Our weather out here is usually milder so all of this snow is making me slightly crazy. It looks like you guys had fun.

If only our snow day had, you know, SNOW! :)
I'm glad you went out in it and enjoyed it for a while - looks like Sundance enjoyed himself too!

I love snow! I think it's more special when you live somewhere that just gets snow occasionally rather than for months on end! :)

I might put the pics on my desktop.

It is 40.4°C outside and climbing still. (2pm)

Staying in bed sounds like a pretty good option.

We've been waiting and waiting for snow ... and by WE I mean The Little One. We got a tiny little taste this morning but maybe your stuff is heading up north to us. The newscasters are just going nuts about it so maybe we'll get something.

Yay snow days. I still like them. Not as much as my son though. I hope she takes a liking to the recorder, only because I can't hear it where I'm standing.

You know... I can almost not believe this post...

because... you see my friend...

As i write this in Melbourne, Victoria...

The temperature is 42 degrees celsius...

Dont ask me what that is in fahrenheit... but its frikkin hot (never know how one spells frickin)

Im sittin at a computer in the doctors lounge looking out on to the carpark...I can see people walking outside and suddenly turning into a scene from the wizard of oz "Im melting...melting..."

This morning one of my colleagues told a nurse "Its like the sahara desert outside".... she replied "Ive been to the sahara... its not as hot as this..."

Enjoy the snow beautiful one and spare a thought for me as i try to recusitate every one in the carpark whose passed out with heat stroke...

Much love, M
