Checking In...

Howdy, bloggy peeps! Just checking in quickly to say hi! Hi! My week is going pretty well. We didn't actually go camping... because... well... (I'm ashamed to say) I was nursing the mother of all hangovers (so you know, splitting 5 bottles of wine between 2 people is just stupid... don't do it... ever). We did go to see Star Trek on Saturday night (when I could stand up without falling over) and we went hiking yesterday (and Sundance went swimming). And today, I picked 13 ticks off my dog (and 3 off me). Ick. One was in my ear! So, tomorrow's dinner in Charlottesville with my friend Alan (and yes, I do have some girl friends... honest). And Chris, for the record (once again!), my relationship with Todd IS indeed purely platonic. Believe me... I know the difference... all too well... All. Too. Well. (...given the sheer number of guy friends I have who are just friends)... sigh.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! Take care... speak soon... XO

Damn the platonic-ness of it all! Have a great time at dinner. And, seriously, 4 bottles of wine is the magic number. When you do 5, you're clearly a glutton! ;-)

into Diane- way to go- stop at 4 bottles - always !!
a fifth bottle is like a third kid- it changes everything !!!

Mother of God! I'm sure that fifth bottle sounded like a good idea at the time. Really, my friend, keep the corks and line them up on the counter. When you see four, for the love of God, STOP!

I'm so grateful for this little chuckle. You have no idea how badly I needed to be laughing tonight. XO my buttery friend!

Maybe the ticks were there for the wine?

Maybe if you drink 6 bottles the ticks will die and fall off on their own?

Thanks for the update. I probably should do the same. If anyone remembers me.

If I had known a hangover would get me out of camping I would have started using that excuse a long time ago! LOL Sounds like you're having fun despite the tick in your ear! ;)

Hehe Diane, you know us Europeans, we can hold our liquor.;)
Have a continuous great time with your friend(s).;)

FIVE (5) bottles? I shudder at the thought....

I'm glad you didn't drink and camp...as they say it is very dangerous and illegal in some states.

Strange that the "ALAN" you are meeting spells his name EXACTLY like my Big AL spells his. AND Big AL says he'll be out of town for a few days...hmmmm....I hope this one is strictly a platonic relationship!

Glad you are having fun... although, five bottles of wine might just be a tad too much fun. Just sayin'. :)
Have I mentioned lately how much I want to come back for another visit? Seriously. One day was not enough. I need more Diane time.

Sure, sure, whatever. I'm going to believe that this guy had 2.5 bottles of wine and didn't try to "buzz the tower." Whatever you say, Di.

Glad you had a good time, though. And jeez, that's a lotta wine.

I hate ticks. I've found 4 already on me this year and a number of them on the dogs. My parents house seems to be infested!

I know... I'm sitting here thinking you have way too many guy friends for me to be single still. What's that about??

JUST KIDDING!!!!

Missing you already, and five bottles is going some, even for we bevy-heavy Europeans!

Mine's a Pimms, dahlink!

Cheers! ;) xxx

Did you love Star Trek?? I sure did..i used to watch the original with my mom when I was like 5 years old and I still remember that!! Did you think of the giant bug crawling in Pike's head when you found the tick in your ear????

Eeew... ticks. Watch out for the teensy suckers. Hiking with a hangover? Poor you.

ew, in your ear? At least you found it or you may have turned into an urban legend.

Diane, I do believe your guy friendship is platonic - my best friend from college is a guy... who is married (very happily) to his high school sweet heart. She has become a friend also. It's great to have good guy friends - kinda like brothers, but better (I never had any). I also LOVE that you admit to drinking too much wine!!! You are so cool!

Just you wait, the second they hear you say "just friends" it will become a challenge, friendship be damned! Glad you are past the worst of the hangover ... 5 bottles of wine - wowsers! That requires a lot of water the next day, and the next and the next. ;) Stay hydrated!

Happy belated Mother's Day, Diane!

And lay off the wine. Wait, I have no idea what I'm saying.

Happy to hear your week is going well and Happy Belated Mother's Day.

Gosh five bottles of wine, its a wonder you were still standing. :)

Its good to have male friends, some are very protective even if they are platonic. ♡
