Holy Crap, That's Funny!

I've stayed away from posting any political rants here, even though I'm a fairly (and by 'fairly' I mean 'colossally') opinionated person. I just wanted this to be a different sort of blog. Anyway, though I don't consider myself a member of any party, it probably wouldn't be difficult to figure out what side of the political fence I sit on if you read my blog. This election has disturbed me (lots of us, I know) beyond reason and I've been horrified at how the campaigns have been conducted; at the lies and misrepresentations told (and believed); at how the real issues have become so convoluted that they're barely recognizable anymore. Explaining this process to my 9-year-old in an objective manner (which I always try to do) has been unbelievably difficult.

HOWEVER (committment to avoiding political crap be damned), my friend Mel sent me this photo the other day and I burst out laughing. I'm not posting it to offend anyone (well, the conservatives out there, anyway)... I just think it's a riot. You do have to have read Harry Potter to understand it. If you haven't, trust me when I say that both comparisons are spot on (though I think the Umbridge/Palin reference is DISTURBINGLY apt)!!

Ain't that the truth. I just hope that Palin and her pen don't make it to the big show! McCain I don't find too bad.

Who am I to chastise you? I wasn't trying to and hope it didn't come off that way. The full story/explanation for that will make it into the light soon.....very soon.

If she was shorter, squatter, frownier and wore bows in her hair, it would be even more apt. He's such a Fudge, don't ya think? I used to find him capable, but now he comes off as ineffectual somehow. Just like Fudge.

I told my son and he laughed. But I have no idea why.

On a related front I have been having fun with the comments to my last 'political' posting, if you are wandering past that blog.

Hate to admit it, but I've only seen the movies. I started reading the first book and was completely impressed (amazingly so much better than the movie! but what book isnt?), but then got busy with babies... and had to give the books back to my step-daughter... someday I will get my own copies ;)
I will have to ask my step-daughter about these characters so I can get it! :) But anything making fun of these two is golden in my book. I also have been completely disturbed by the ads and misinformation in this campaign! I'd say more, but I'll probably end up losing readers ;)
