I got tagged for a photo meme by Kendall. It was that 4th of 4th one but I posted that photo not long ago. So I, like Kendall (who didn't want the world to see him drinking a Heineken), changed the rules and am posting the 5th photo from my 5th folder.
This was taken during our Easter weekend camping trip to Douthat State Park this past spring. Well, 'spring' is debatable... it was SO cold, dropping below freezing both nights, and so incredibly windy (the awning for my tent blew away 3 times!). We had to sleep in coats, hats, and gloves, and we thoroughly exploited Sundance's body heat. It was fun, though, and I'll likely remember the weekend forever, as it was when Ryan learned the truth about the Easter Bunny... and Santa... and the Tooth Fairy... sigh.
Oh, and I tag anyone who wants to post their 4th of 4th... or 5th of 5th...

I'll take the bait. I'm doing my 3rd of 3rd since I did my 4th of 4th last time and I don't have a 5th folder.
I love that you and your daughter go camping. Never did that with Heather. Never went camping at all til a couple of years ago with my son and his cub scout pack, discovered that I kinda liked it.

Heather's Mom... I've been taking her since she was about 2, but a lot more often the past 2 years. I think it's really important for her to see that girls can do stuff like that on their own... that we can be self-sufficient and strong. We spent a week in Maine this summer, just the 2 of us, and we're planning a 2-week camping trip out to the Grand Canyon next summer.
Thanks so much for commenting on my blog... I can see where Heather gets her 'niceness' from :)
Awwwww that's too bad about Santa inc. I honestly can't wait until my kids know the truth LOL :)
THANK you for your last comment! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like that! :)
I love this picture Diane; I love the fact that Ryan is looking away, and Sundance is looking straight into the camera with a fun expression on his face.:) As if he is saying; I am in charge here and watching everything.
I am impressed that you dare to go camping on your own! But I guess having Sundance around helps a lot.:)
Zuz... he only goes on weekend trips. When we go for longer, it's just the two of us (we sometimes go sightseeing to places dogs aren't welcome). But I have never felt afraid or nervous in any way when we camp :)
You make me want to be a better camper!
It looks very neat and tidy. I wonder if the dog glued to the mat. Usually, if I want to take an animal's photo, it wants to do nose-prints on my camera.
Bravo on raising Ryan to be a self-sufficient and strong woman,
that's always been my goal for Heather...

I can't wait to take my son camping. Then again, I don't want to rush it either.
Great picture.
I love to camp, too. But not in the collldddd. Brrr. Your dog is a little bigger than mine so you can probably withstand lower temps.
Sundance looks like he wants to go home.
4th of the 4th? You're not talking glasses and wine bottles, are you? I guessing that because there is no such thing as a 5th of the 5th in such cases. Not with the size of my wine glasses, anyway.
Jane... he does look a bit pitiful, doesn't he? I dunno why, as he loves to go camping. It was probably because Ryan was hoarding the marshmallows :)
JCN... the 4th of 4th would have me on my butt (I'd be in a coma before the 5th of 5th). I'm good for a bottle and a half myself before the hangover sets in. Beer, thankfully, is a different story :)
Despite the freezing temps. that looks like a lot of fun. I've been wanting to take my girls camping (but don't know what I'm doing, so bears will surely eat us), so that pic lets me live vicariously!
And Sundance is adorable. (And so is your daughter.) :)
I am about to admit something. I have never ever been camping. The two times I was supposed to there was was a last minute change of plans.
Also never believed in the Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy. The Great Pumpkin and Santa were entirely different stories.

P. S. I don't want to any school official to get a hold of my blog and I have a picture of me drinking since I'm not quite 21 yet.
K... you MUST go! If you like the outdoors, it's an amazing way to spend a few days. Also, I realized why you didn't want to post the photo... took me a few minutes (slow, I am) but I did get it. You're a smart man (but we knew that :)
I spy a HOKIE SWEATSHIRT! and I love it.
