I Wish I Could Speak 'Dog'...

This is a 'conversation' I had with Sundance this morning after our walk at the park...

Me (opening the car door): OK, Bubby... up!

Sundance (sitting down): ...

Me: Come on, then. Up!

Sundance (still sitting, looking up at me): ...

Me: Sundance! Up!

Sundance: ...

Me (pulling on his collar): Damn it, Sunny, get in the car!

Sundance: ...

Me: NOW!

Sundance (putting his front feet on the seat): ...

Me (pretending to close the door on his butt): Get.All.The.Way.In.

Sundance (looking back at me with big, soulful eyes): ...

Me: I am NOT lifting your lazy ass into the car. Get in. NOW!

Sundance: ...

Me: Damn it, Bubby. You are the laziest dog I have ever met. If I threw a cookie in there you'd get in, wouldn't you? What is your problem? Why won't you get in?

Sundance: ...

Me: Grrrrr... (lifting his back legs onto the seat)

Sundance (looking back at me with an 'I knew you'd do it eventually' expression): ...

Me (slamming the back door and getting in the car): God-bleep, bleeping, bleepity-bleep dog!

Sundance (standing between the seats, licking the side of my face as I put my seatbelt on): ...

Me: Next time I'm leaving your sorry butt at the park!

Sundance: Lick, lick, lick...

Me: Sigh. Yes, I love you, too.

Hahaha!! Oh, I know those conversations well. At least mine is small enough to throw around, if need be. :)

Careful what you wish for!!! When my son was little I wished for him to learn how to speak....he hasn't stopped talking since! :)

If Sundance could talk I picture him with a thick english accent. He really looks like he needs a cap and some spectacles.

That was a funny conversation!;) I enjoyed it so, I almost felt I was there witnessing this.;)
Have you ever been thinking about writing a children's book?;) Just a thought.;) I think you would be good at it.;))
And of course Sundance is truly cute on the photo.;))

I do speak dog, and I think he was ticked because he was hoping you were driving to SOUTHERN ILLINOIS to see a special friend and when he realized you weren't, he was like "Ain't no way, sista!!!"

Then, he decides he loves you anyway, and will keep lick kissing you to remind you of us hillbillies here. We greet you with a kiss. (No licks).

SO everytime he "kisses" you he's saying, "So. Illinoisans are SO FRIENDLY! We should go visit!"

I wouldn't lie to you. ahem.

I have that very same conversation no less than three times a day with my dumb dog. it's a good thing he's cute and a great guard dog or he'd be dead.

Funny, that's the same conversation I have with Bailey... except your dog is at least somewhat trained.

So funny!!! I have a 4 lb dog who rules the home! and is naughty in every way possible...but we love him!!!!:) I was walking/dragging him around the block last night , using some of the same 'bleeps' you did!! He was determined not to put his little feet near the pavement..and I was determined he was going to 'potty'. No need to tell you who won that little argument!! (he finally peed on my floor!!!! ugh!!)

haha, I like Protege's suggestion about writing children's book, but, you'd have to leave out some bleeps ;-)

I'm pretty sure if I spoke dog that I wouldn't talk to anyone else, besides Chance and Narnia. We'd probably smack talk Onyx and Fiance.

That dog has you wrapped around his little toe, but then he'd do that to all of us! And he has a pillow at the end of your bed, for goddess's sake!!! Not a basket! What a soft (and lovely) 'touch' you are, Diane! xox

That dog has you right where he wants you! Too funny.

Ahh, he looks like he can jump! At least in that picture! If he was a big fatty, overfed dog, then maybe I'd feel a little sorry for him. Sundance! You know, I have a lovely black lab shepherd mix that does the same thing and I just can't figure it out. Granted, she was a stray before so perhaps never had any experience or maybe even a bad experience in cars, but she refuses to jump in, too! Sigh. And yet we go on loving them because they are so darn loveable!
