She Dreamed a Little Dream...

I know it's floating all over the Internet today but if you haven't yet seen the video of Susan Boyle's audition for Britain's Got Talent, you have to go visit Michelle over at Raw Cool. I'd post it myself, but, well, I'm a wee bit technologically challenged and I can't get it to work. Anyway, it's really fantastic. Susan Boyle is a 47-year-old, never-been-kissed, unassuming-cum-odd-looking woman from Scotland... with a voice that will blow you out of your socks. The way she affects the audience is amazing and she teaches us all a few good lessons... first, that we should never judge anyone by the way they look, and second, if you have a dream and can muster some courage to go after it, you simply don't know what can happen...

Go see it. You won't be sorry. I promise.

It's not very often that you see a smile that big on Simon's face! That voice was so amazing that it gave me goosebumps!

Awesome! This is so cool.

I wish I could sing. Instead, I sound like a long-tailed cat in a room full a rockers.

So sad...

Wow. I mean, er, I don't know what to say. Wow.

It made the local TV news here this evening which means it has to be a top international story. They don't show stuff like this normally. We usually have to put up with stories about a terrible season for tarot (disgusting stuff) or how the hotels are full for the Merrie Monarch festival, but they led with this.

I admit I had a tear in my eye. Seeing the cantankerous Englishman Simon Cowell actually look shocked and then smiling made my day! (Do you wonder why Englishmen are always portrayed as the anti-heros in hollywood movies - he's the role-model!).

Great story and I'm glad I got to see the youtube video before watching the local news.

A great story Diane, I saw it on the news last night.
I was disappointed to see how the judges and the audience were looking at her, almost sneering because she didnt fit into the appearance what one would call a stereotypical contestant.
I was so happy when she blew them away with her beautiful voice, what a voice she has and her dream has come true.
We can all learn a lesson from this, dont judge people by their appearance, they almost always surprise us. ♡

Thanks for the link to the video. I had seen a very short clip on the news, but hadn't seen the entire performance. Tears rolled down my cheeks both times I watched it.

Such a remarkable voice makes us realize how many incredibly talented people must be out there who have never had the opportunity to show their stuff.

Susan got more than her 15 minutes of fame while her video is circling the globe. I hope her dream comes true.
