So, I was crazy busy yesterday, running around, doing chores, mowing the lawn, etc, all so I could get out of here around 3:00 or so, to go to a cook-out. It was an end-of-summer thing hosted by one of the guys in that social networking group I joined a while ago. I asked the Pigsknuckle Liberal to go with me, since he's the only other single person I even know in Conservative County and I thought he might have a good time. Plus, you know, I like him. Turns out he was interested in getting out of the house, too, so he came with me.
It was a really good evening. There weren't too many people there (I don't like crowds), and we sat around, ate good food (much of it from the farmer's market), drank our beverages of choice (Pinot Noir for moi), and chatted up a storm. Good times.
However... I believe I consumed close to 2 bottles of the red stuff... by myself (I used every single 'extra' Weight Watchers point for the entire week). And I didn't get home until 4:30am.
And I have been useless all day today. Not quite hungover, but definitely not my normal quasi-energetic self either, I made an effort to do something constructive and took Sundance to the park... where we found the first shady spot and plopped down for about an hour of cloud-watching-cum-snoring (well, my dog snored... I used him as a pillow and tried not to fall asleep). And other than drink a massive Diet Pepsi and eat a cold ear of corn and a clementine, that's pretty much all I've done today. Useless.
Clearly I am not responsible enough to have a social life.
But it was definitely fun!

You DESERVED the fun you had AND the absolute laziness you are experiencing today. It's OK not to do anything for a whole day..
hold on.. lemme check..
Yep the world is still spinning ;)
Enjoy the rest of your do nothing day
I'm glad you enjoyed yourself!
Our bodies keep reminding us we're not 23 again. But 4:30 am is pretty darn good :)
I'm sure it was the lawn mowing that did you in. . . nothing to do with the red stuff. . . nothing. . .
Did you get to use all of your Weight Watcher's Sex points too?
I'm glad you had a fun time!
You say you were "not quite hungover"...lol if I drank that much wine I would either be in a coma or dead. :-) ♡
Ahh... another lovely Anonymous commenter... from, it seems, a 'Burg near my neck of the woods (i.e. the redneck neck of the woods).
As far as I know, Anonymous, WW doesn't incorporate sex points into their program. I might suggest it at the next meeting, though... as they could get a whole new group of people to join.
Useless? Sounds like a perfect corn eatin', orange slurpin, hang over eliminatin' day to me!
Where's the photos?
I demand some pics!
I think it sounds like you had an appropriate Sunday. :-) And, yes, I second the notion for pics of Saturday night!
I'm thinking that being proactive about cultivating a fun and creative social life is HIGHLY RESPONSIBLE of you!
And, if WW gives sex points, I'm joining tomorrow!
:-) Couldn't that count as the exercise portion of the program?! Just sayin'. ;-)
I'm glad you had a wonderful time!
Sounds like you had a great time! You know a party is not a party unless you have a hang over the next day.;)) Hehe.;)
But I know what you mean; I am not longer the way I used to be, when the next day after a night out I was pretty much un-effected.;))
I hope your Monday is great, dear friend.;)) xo
Your doctor called....your cure for social responsabilitis is in......OMG you took TWO bottles?????....Oh....well....get some rest.......
Haha... sounds like fun to me! :)
And I always enjoy a day of laziness after a fun night out. Unfortunately, I don't always get said day of laziness. Sometimes I actually have to be functional, which is NO fun at all.
I really need a day like that ;) LOL!!!! Im serious... Ok im going to sleep now before I collapse on to this keyboard ;) and i havent drunk a thing PROMISE! (thats what they all say right lol)
Love you, M
I dunno, it seems to me that you've got a great grasp on the social life concept. Good times, great food, plenty of red stuff and a day to relax and recover. At least you did your chore work before twisting off for the rest of the weekend! Hope you feeel your usual chipper self again!
Diane, two bottles of wine, and NOT hungover - Amazing - Must be all that exercise you've been doing, girl!
Glad you had a great time - Hope it's a fab week for you too. xox
Weight Watchers Sex Points...hee! That's the exercise program!
Not touching this one.
No, I am not touching this one.
