My Girl...

This is my girl.

This morning, my girl got on my nerves. In a big way. She was disagreeable, whiny, and unpleasant. She gave me lip and attitude. I wanted to kick her butt into tomorrow, where hopefully she'd be in a better mood.

She is not always that way, thankfully (or she'd be living with her father). Sometimes (like today) I need to remind myself of that... hence the trip through my photo files. She was not acting that way when I took the above picture. It was this past July and we were at Acadia National Park in Maine, where we camped for a week, just the two of us. It was amazing. She was amazing. That water was about 50 degrees. She stayed in for over an hour, catching big waves, being swept to shore, rendered breathless by both the frigid water and the excitement of being in the place she most wanted to be at that very moment. She was fearless. She was full of life. She was loving the sea and nature and just being alive.

This is my girl. She is amazing. And I love her.

Aw! I just decided to see if you'd posted anything new and as soon as your page loaded I got a big smile on my face because there's my goddaughter!

P.S. I think it's because of the full moon tomorrow - most of B's class were pouty, whiny, and disagreeable yesterday Cori said. The teacher had had it.

We have to take the good with the bad, don't we? We will have our revenge eventually. In a loving way, of course.

Your girl, your daughter is an individual with her own beliefs, her own ups and downs, her own perception of life, of everything she experiences. Just like you.;)
You love her and she loves you back.
Even girls can have bad days, when they are in a bad mood. Just like us, when we pick a fight or throw a fit, even if we know we are WAY out of line.;)
I glad you love her through it all, as I am sure she loves you back too.;)))

I like that you pulled out the pictures to remind yourself of happier times. :)
Your girl seems a lot like me when I was her age. Passionate about everything, whether it's enjoying the moment or arguing with every ounce of her energy. I gave Mama hell, but we both survived! You'll make it!!

Be kind. Be patient. And mutter "I hope you have lots of children" under your breath.

Fifty degrees! Dang, that's cold.

Sometimes I think the purpose of children is to fully exercise our wide range of emotions.

Give me a child that talks back any day...it's so much easier to know what they are thinking and feeling!!!
She is beautiful...but you know that!

It is moments like that, when I feel them, that makes living apart from my children the hardest.
