Shalom...

Note: Though I swear I looked it up and you can find it all over the Internet spelled 'yamaka', I've been corrected by two very smart (albeit obnoxious) people. It would seem that 'yamaka' is (very possibly) meant to be spelled (by picky people) 'yarmulke'. Damn it.

Ryan got this very cool fashion design kit for Christmas, full of all sorts of fabric and embellishments. She's been creating scads of slinky evening gowns and pretty sundresses from yards of silky, satiny, lacey material. A few minutes ago, she came in here with a piece of pink lace cut into a circle. She put it on Sundance’s head (and no, he was not pleased).

Me: A pretty fancy hat for Mr. Man, don't you think?
Ry: It’s not a hat. It's a Yamaka (Yarmulke).
Me: Really. I’ve never seen a pink lace Yamaka (Yarmulke).
Ry: It’s what all the fancy, French, Jewish dogs are wearing.

Have I mentioned that my kid is weird?

And how did I not know my dog was Jewish? Or French? Or, very possibly, gay?

I am convinced that My Man's dog is really a 65 yr old gay man. My Man got stuck with him because his daughter thought Corgies are cute. I am not so sure.

I wonder too..(Okay, that's a lazy comment..but I'm so in the dark..what's Yamaka?)

Ok, i think Ryan is on to something here!! Yamaka's for gay french jewish dogs are all the rage in Paris.

You read my post about me in Paris right? Measuring the Eiffel Tower. Well, i forgot to mention that while i was there measuring, i saw a dog wearing a pink lace Yamaka. I thought i went well with his eyes, but i am guessing that Ryans model is a lot better looking!!!

Happy Sunday girlie!!!

CG... so he's gay and Welsh... but is he Jewish? ;)

HLiza... a Yamaka is the little round cap that Jewish men wear.

Michelle... Ryan's Yamaka was pretty fabulous. I think she could make some cash... I'll be starting my own little sweatshop here next week. Happy Sunday to you, too!!

I sometimes think that Chance is gay, since he'll hump Fiance's leg incessantly, but then I realized that he was just desperate, because he knows better than to hump my leg.

Ryan sounds like an absolutely wonderful kid. You must adore having her around, and it's great that you're keeping a record of her quips and creations. I love that you share this stuff!

Ah! Twinkles Poodlestein!

Sam... thank God, Sundance never humps anything. He's 75lbs... it wouldn't be pretty.

Lee... Sundance looked like he wanted to die when he got the lacey treatment.

Sophia... she is a pretty great kid (most days). I'd share her not-so-great days, too, except that I usually can't put a funny spin on them!

JCosmo... Sundance is not amused (but I am!)

My kid keeps bringing me sewing projects that she's made with her new machine and I think she wants me to say how good it is LOL I love little girls ;)

Where do they come up with these things? And how didn't you know?

Too funny. Sundance should have been honored to be so fashionable.

Psst... it's spelled "yarmulke"

Diane said...

Shanna... little girls are cool ;)

Kristin... I don't know... and I don't know ;)

Jim... I looked it up before I posted. Yamaka seems to be an accepted spelling but now that you mention it, I have seen it spelled the way you said.

Oh, would that there was a Project Runway for doggies because my goddaughter would be the winner hands down.

You know...there's probably an online market for pink lacy yarmulkes (I had to agree with Heinous's spelling here, sorry...) and this might just be the business opportunity you've been waiting for!

sounds like you have a creative, intelligent genius on your hands there, Diane...i am ever so sorry, but I look forward to more and more hilarious postings from you :-) Us creative, intelligent types tend to wreck unintended havoc on our moms in our teen years....and Sundance better look out...a tutu might be in his future....

diane, you are one striking-looking woman and I am so pleased you called by. Stick around! x

Mel... you should see what she designed for me!

SSP... I'm scared of her teen years, believe me.

Billy... why you flatterer, you! I'll be sticking around... no worries! x
