Recipe for a Perfect Summer Weekend

Ingredients:

Two gorgeous, sunny days (with cool breezes)
One freshly mowed lawn
Two 5-mile walks (with a lazy dog and a talky child)
One just-weeded garden
Two afternoons at the pool (add 40 laps)
Liberal amounts of sunscreen
One chocolate sundae for 2 (with fresh berries)
Two hula hoops (with extra giggles)
One fire in outside fire pit
Several toasted marshmallows
Liberal amounts of bug-spray
One sleep-over (add an extra 9-year-old girl)
One London broil, grilled to perfection
Fresh veggies from the farmer’s market
Crusty bread
One bottle of Pinot Noir (or two… optional)
One watermelon
At least 4 good neighbors and friends

Directions:

Mix together and bake at 85 degrees for 48 hours

Serve with smiles, laughter, good conversation, and lots of love.

Enjoy!

85 degrees, huh? It was 101 here Saturday. Yeah. 1.0.1. Wow. It's only June...

That sounds absolutely lovely. We all need weekends like that. For most of us, they are few and far between.

The only things I might add would be a good book and a snooze in a hammock. It's no longer the weekend, but I just might grab a book and head for my hammock now.

I'm so jealous! It's raining and freezing here (still) and I don't think summer will ever come.

Cute!

I'm glad the weather is lovely where you are because here it feels like I may as well be living in a freaking RAIN FOREST. The humidity is practically unbearable but I suppose I prefer it to the blood-curdling winter. Oy.

Basically, I'm totally jealous of you.

Just might have to print this out and put it up on my kitchen cupboard so that I see it when I make my early morning cup of tea. Just lovely!
